The inSPIRES Mental Health Project was created in memory of Sheldon Spires with the mission of improving mental health access, awareness, and advocacy within the Central Florida community. Rooted in compassion and collaboration, inSPIRES serves as the community outreach arm of Behavioral Health Associates focusing on breaking down barrier to care through public education, resource navigation, and partnerships with local organizations.


This initiative aims to empower individuals and families by offering mental health workshops, support groups, and community based programming. Creating safe spaces for conversations about mental wellness, reducing stigma, and connecting people with the help they need. Ultimately, the inSPIRES Mental Health Project honors Sheldon's legacy by fostering a more informed, supportive, and mentally health community for all.

It's mission is to improve mental health access, reduce stigma, and provide education, resources, and affordable clinical services for individuals and families across Central Florida.

How does the inSPIRES Mental Health Project connect to Behavioral Health Associates?

The inSPIRES Mental Health Project serves as Behavioral Health Associates community outreach and affordable care arms.  It focuses on educational workshops, advocacy, partnerships, and reduced-rate clinical services for those facing financial or systemic barriers to mental health treatment.

What types of programs and services does the inSPIRES Mental Health Project offer?

  • Sliding scale/ complimentary clinical services (for qualifying individuals)
  • Mental health workshops
  • Support groups
  • Educational initiatives
  • Community Partnerships

Who can participate in the inSPIRES Mental Health Project?

Initiatives such as mental health workshops, support groups, and educational initiatives are open to anyone in the community. However, sliding scale/complimentary clinical services are offered to community members whose income is under the 200% Federal Poverty Line (FPL). Community members seeking for sliding scale or complimentary clinical services must provide proof of income during an intake assessment.
